چکیده

Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood has been separated into four races (R l -R4) based on the ability of different populations to parasitize 'NC95' tobacco and 'Deltapine 16' cotton (7). Since the designation of races within this species, several workers have at tempted to characterize them on the basis of reproduction on a common host. Araujo et al. (1) compared the reproduction of R1 and R4 on susceptible and resistant tomatoes at 32.5 C. No difference between the races was observed on susceptible tomatoes, but R4 produced significantly more egg masses than did R 1 on five of seven resistant tomato cultivars. Swanson and Van Gundy (6) reported that R1, R3, and R4 had significantly greater reproduction on 'Pickett' soybean than did R2. On 'Centennial'

Host suitability and response of asparagus cultivars to meloidogyne species and races.

The host-parasite relationships of asparagus and Meloidogyne spp. were examined under greenhouse and microplot conditions. Meloidogyne species and races differed greatly in their ability to reproduce on asparagus seedlings. Meloidogyne hapla generally failed to reproduce, and M. javanica, M. arenaria race 1, and M. incognita race 3 reproduced poorly, with a reproduction factor (Rf = final popul...

Interaction of Meloidogyne javanica with Different Races of Meloidogyne incognita.

The interspecific interactions of Meloidogyne javanica with races 1, 2, 3, and 4 of M. incognita on tomato were determined. Impacts of the interactions on fecundity and morphometrics of females were also examined. Mutually inhibitory interactions occurred between M. javanica and the races of M. incognita, but the negative interactions did not reflect in plant growth. Numbers of root galls, egg ...

Relative Virulence of Meloidogyne incognita Host Races on Soybean.

Sensitivity and host efficiency of susceptible ('Lee 68', 'Coker 156') and resistant ('Bragg', 'Centennial', 'Forrest', 'Lee 74') soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivars for races of Meloidogyne incognita (Mi) were determined in greenhouse experiments. Eight Mi populations collected from the southeastern United States were utilized. All Mi races reproduced readily on Lee 68 and Lee 74 and mo...

Competition of Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchulus reniformis on Cotton Following Separate and Concomitant Inoculations.

It has been hypothesized Rotylenchulus reniformis (Rr) has a competitive advantage over Meloidogyne incognita (Mi) in the southeastern cotton production region of the United States. This study examines the reproduction and development of Meloidogyne incognita (Mi) and Rotylenchulus reniformis (Rr) in separate and concomitant infections on cotton. Under greenhouse conditions, cotton seedlings we...
